10 No No’s 

1. Being rude to the dancers, servers, or other staff.

It should go without saying that acting like a jerk (in any place of business) is a big no-no, but being rude in a strip club can come with especially unfortunate consequences. Keep in mind that you can be asked to leave at any time and that making the entertainers feel uncomfortable is a sure ticket to the street outside. Be courteous and keep the too-cool attitude to yourself, and you can bet that you’ll have a much better time.

2. Failing to respect the strip club’s rules.

Every strip club has its own code of conduct, which is often dictated by the specific rules and regulations in the state where it’s located. For example, a Dallas lap dance could be much different than the one you’d get in Utah, New York, or any other of the 50 other United States. And while we don’t expect every guy to dive into deep research of local strip club laws, you should make the effort to be aware of the rules at the club where you’re headed. Double-check their FAQs page to make sure there you know the basics (e.g. no touching, full-friction allowed, etc.) – or even just ask a staff member – and respect all of the rules to a T.

3. Forgetting to check prices up-front.

Once you’ve said yes to a lap dance, there’s no option to “opt-out” of paying, not even if you didn’t realize how much it cost. Even though the ladies performing are there to help you have a good time, it’s important to remember that they’re also professionals, and should be paid for their work. Make sure you know what to expect in terms of lap dance pricing to avoid any potential surprises later on.

4. Trying to snag a sexy photo or video.

We’re guessing that if someone snapped a photo or took a video without your permission, you’d be a little annoyed, right? Now imagine that same scenario, except you’re naked on a stage. With that in mind, you can see why plenty of entertainers don’t appreciate when guests try to sneak a photo. Sometimes, they’re happy to share in a sultry selfie with you – but always make sure you ask first.

5. Bringing a date who doesn’t want to be there.

We think that date night at a strip club is one of the most enjoyable ways to spice up a relationship, and plenty of wives and girlfriends love the sexy and exciting atmosphere. That being said, it’s not necessarily an experience that’s for everyone. Before you surprise your lovely lady with a front-row seat to a striptease show, make sure it’s something she actually wants to do. Otherwise, your fun will definitely be ruined, and her discomfort (or worse, a bad attitude) will keep the entertainers far away from your seat.

6. Not checking the club’s money-saving specials.

So you want to have an epic night at the strip club, but you aren’t exactly rolling in cash – don’t worry, because, with a little smart sleuthing, you can find all the best strip club specials and save some serious money. Look for offerings like free lunch buffets, discounted drinks, and even special events, and you’ll be able to have a rock star-style experience without the larger-than-life budget.

7. Not tipping the stage entertainment.

Don’t be the guy that shorts the on-stage dancers on tips. You don’t necessarily have to make it rain, but tipping at least a few dollars to each dancer is both a courtesy and a smart way to stay on the Entertainers’ good sides. Show them that you appreciate their talents with a proper tip, and they’ll make sure you’re well taken care of.

8. Skipping the VIP experience.

You might assume that VIP memberships at a strip club are reserved only for their rich and famous guests – but actually, they’re often totally free to join. Signing up for the VIP guest list can score you a seriously impressive list of perks, ranging from free gifts and insider emails to access to exclusive party packages and deals. With just a few minutes of your time and next to no effort, you can elevate your crew from everyday patrons to the club’s select list of very important people – why wouldn’t you take advantage of the opportunity?

9. Being too “shy” for a lap dance.

This might not be strip club etiquette, but it’s definitely a common mistake guys make at the club. Even if you’re usually pretty reserved, don’t miss out on treating yourself to a lap dance. Even the best stage entertainment can’t quite hold a candle to the experience of a beautiful, scantily-clad dancer in your lap.
